Hello! My name is Davette Dean and I am the new Youth Services Coordinator for Cass County Public Library.

It is wonderful to be working for the community that I have always lived in. I grew up in Peculiar and went to school at Harrisonville Christian and then Ray-Pec for high school. I then graduated from UMKC with my Elementary Education degree.

My husband and I lived in Belton for our first year of marriage and now we have called Harrisonville our home for 5 years. We have a sweet 9 month old boy who is the joy of our lives. I enjoy reading and singing whenever I have spare time, which I have found is rare with a baby around.

I have worked for Cass County Public Library for the past 3 years at the Harrisonville Branch. There I primarily worked with the teens while also doing a pajama storytime for the children.

I look forward to working for the library county wide through collection development as well as enhancing our services for our local youth.
