New hours of operation come to the Genealogy Branch

Beginning on Monday, March 2, 2015, the Genealogy Branch of Cass County Public Library – located inside the Harrisonville Branch at 400 E Mechanic – will roll out new, slightly reduced hours of operation.

The new hours of operation:

Mon: 10 am – 12 pm; & 1pm – 6pm
Tues: 12pm – 6pm
Wed: 12 pm – 5 pm; & 6 pm – 8 pm
Thur: 12pm – 6pm
Fri & Sat: 10 am – 12 pm; & 1 pm – 5 pm

The new hours reflect the times during a typical week when the branch has been the busiest, and also reflect the ongoing need for the library to conserve and make careful use of public resources to best serve the community. However, the branch will continue to offer regular evening and weekend hours.

Many of the library’s most heavily used genealogical research tools are accessible from outside the Genealogy Branch. Using a library card, most of the genealogy databases can be accessed at any time either from home or from the many other library locations located around Cass County. The popular genealogy database, Ancestry, while not accessible from home, can be accessed from any public computer in any Cass County Public Library branch.

The new hours will be posted on the Genealogy Branch page of the library website and at the physical entry to the Genealogy Branch.
